Hesiod was the first major Greek poet to speak in his own voice and to describe the lives, struggles, and concerns of ordinary people. Through 'Works and Days', he left one of the earliest reflections on labor, justice, morality, and economic life, while 'Theogony' became the foundation of Greek mythology for later generations.
