Biography



Jun Miyake (Japanese: 三宅純) is a distinguished Japanese composer. He was born on January 7th in Kyoto and studied at Berklee College of Music from 1976 to 1981. He began his career as a jazz trumpeter, and after returning to Tokyo, he turned more into composition. He has released more than 27 solo albums while working on films, documentaries, dance, commercials, plays, and has also served as a producer for many artists.

Miyake worked closely with Pina Bausch on tracks such as Rough Cut (2005), Vollmond (2006), Sweet Mambo (2008) and achieved international recognition with songs such as "Lilies in the Valley" and "The Here and After" which were used in documentary Pina in 2012;
